Shot by shot
Two sides take turns placing an X or an O on a three-by-three grid. The first to get three of their marks in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins.
You can play a friend or the computer. A click puts your mark in a square, and that is the only control.
Inputs, one by one
- ClickPlace a mark
- TapPlace a mark on phone or tablet
Small advantages
- The centre square gives you the most lines through it, so it is a sensible first move.
- If you go second and the centre is taken, start in a corner.
- Before every move, check whether the other side is one mark from three in a row.
- Try to make a move that creates two threats at once; that is how most rounds are won.
- A draw is a normal result when both sides play carefully.
Who gets along with it
Players of any age who want a short round, and two people sharing a device.
Drawbacks, plainly
- NoteCareful play on both sides often ends in a draw.
- NoteThere is little to learn beyond the opening moves.
- NotePoki may show advertising around its games; that is part of Poki, not this site.
